Poker Flat Jeep Trip

Poker Falt is an awesom place to Jeep too. It has good camp sites, good fishing, Gold panning and good jeepin. It is just outside Downeyville. Downeyville is a great little town in Northern Californina. The trail was pretty steep going in and out of Poker Flat and would be quite a bit harder if it was wet and muddy. We had our Jeeps in Granny low gear and were glad we had that. It really allows you to keep control of your vehicle as it lurches over boulders, trees and whatever else comes our way. If you did not have granny low we would have fried the brakes.

Here we are checkin out the easiest spot to cross the river. we camp just on the other side. Further up the trail gets even harder. Not sure my Jeep could make it in its current stock configuration. Some 33 inch tires and lockers would probably do the trick.

This is Joe's newer Rubicon Jeep.

Went to a fire look out that had great views.

We took a side trip back to a gold mine. On this day the trail got a little tight at times. We had alot of low branches and trees on this trail.

Here is where we saw big bear tracks.
